1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of the My Journey Books website.
By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the website.
The website is operated by Dr Mehdi Soodi under the My Journey Books brand.
2. Website purpose
The website provides information about:
- Dr Mehdi Soodi;
- the My Journey book series;
- book availability;
- order and bulk-order enquiries;
- speaking and media enquiries; and
- related professional practices and services.
The website does not itself establish a solicitor–client, adviser–client, migration professional–client or other professional relationship.
3. General information only
The website and books contain general educational and informational material.
Nothing on the website or in the books constitutes personalised:
- legal advice;
- immigration or visa advice;
- tax advice;
- accounting advice;
- financial advice;
- investment advice;
- business advice; or
- other professional advice.
Information should not be relied upon as a substitute for advice concerning your individual circumstances.
4. No professional engagement
Using the website, downloading material, purchasing a book, submitting an enquiry, receiving an automated acknowledgement or participating in preliminary communications does not create a solicitor–client relationship.
A professional relationship will arise only where the relevant professional practice has:
- completed any necessary identity and conflict checks;
- agreed to accept the matter;
- provided any required disclosure or engagement documentation; and
- confirmed the engagement in writing.
No person should assume that Dr Mehdi Soodi, Ahura Lawyers, Falcon Immigration & Visa Services or another practice is acting for them unless the engagement has been formally confirmed.
5. Accuracy and currency
We take reasonable care in preparing website and book content. However:
- laws, regulations, policies, fees, procedures and government requirements may change;
- third-party information may change without notice;
- website content may not reflect the most recent development;
- errors or omissions may occur; and
- information applicable to one person may not apply to another.
Dates attached to information should be considered carefully.
You are responsible for obtaining current professional advice before acting or refraining from acting.
6. Time-sensitive matters
The website contact form must not be used as the sole means of communicating:
- court or tribunal deadlines;
- visa expiries;
- limitation periods;
- contract deadlines;
- settlement dates;
- urgent legal matters; or
- other time-sensitive information.
We do not accept responsibility for a deadline merely because information concerning it was submitted through the website.
7. Book orders and external retailers
Books may be sold through Amazon or other third-party retailers.
Purchases made through a third-party retailer are governed by that retailer’s:
- terms and conditions;
- privacy policy;
- delivery arrangements;
- payment processes;
- return policy; and
- customer-support procedures.
We do not control third-party retailer systems and are not responsible for their acts, omissions, availability, security or fulfilment processes.
Direct, bulk or institutional orders accepted by My Journey Books may be subject to separate written terms.
